Our Church
Living Word Family Church is a non-denominational, spirit-filled, Bible based church. We preach the uncompromised Word of God; that it ALL applies to us today, because Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) We believe and teach all the gifts of the spirit and are open and welcome to His moving in all our services. (For more information please refer to the sections on Worship and Services below and our Statement of Faith page.)
Senior Pastors Charles & Carla Waldroup
Sensing a call of God upon his life, Pastor Charles left the business field to serve in full time ministry. Not only is he a strong and accomplished leader, but he is equally skilled as a strong and dynamic preacher and teacher; teaching biblical principles to help build a strong foundation in his listeners. You will be blessed by his bold, uncompromising ministry of the Word of God!
Pastors Charles and Carla have served in many ministry positions for the last 26 years. After serving and enjoying various volunteer positions in their church, they accepted full time positions as Church Administrators, and eventually were called to serve as Associate Pastors. They served in that position for several years before beginning Living Word Family Church.
Pastor Charles leads and guides LWFC. Pastor Carla is called by his side. She has served with him through all his years in business and ministry. She leads the Ladies Ministry, directs in several areas of the church, occasionally preaches and teaches in the services, and assists in the daily administrative and organizational responsibilities.
Together Pastors Charles and Carla have built a strong partnership based on a foundation of faith in God and His Word. They encourage LWFC members to build their lives on God’s Word as well, following godly principles, living in excellence and integrity, and seeking ways to use what they learn, by serving and blessing others.
At Living Word Family Church, God has not given us a pastor, but a “pastoral team,” as Pastors Charles and Carla serve together to encourage men and women to be strong in the Lord and the power of His might.
Our Message
Pastors Charles and Carla are committed to preaching the whole truth of God’s Word as charged by Paul in 2 Timothy 4:1-5 -
”I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, Who shall judge the quick and the dead at His appearing and His Kingdom; Preach the Word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned into fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.”
Our message - God coming into the hearts of men .. into the natures of men .. into the bodies of men .. into the souls of men .. into the spirits of men. His purpose is His Spirit living completely in man to
transform him into the very image of Christ Himself, making golden vessels of those who are willing, obedient and yielded to Him in complete dedication and devotion!
We are to become God’s real church, not in name only, but in power and glory, being many members, yet “ONE” - in Spirit, structure, purpose, faith and love!
Romans 8:28-29; Romans 12:1-2; Galatians 2:20;
Ephesians 2:21-22; 3:16-21; 4:12-13, 22-24; 5:27;
Colossians 1:27;
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24.
Our Worship
The Word of God tells us in the Book of Psalms to enter into His courts with praise and into His gates with thanksgiving. As we gather together in worship to our Lord, we will sing, clap, and lift up holy hands in praise and adoration of Him, celebrating the love of God together. (Psalm 35:18) We are singing to Him, not to, or for, people. As we worship, it is a time of excitement and great joy, yet we always remain reverent and respectful, remembering Whose Presence we are in.
Why we sing praises - Psalms 47:6, 7
Why we stand to sing - 2 Chronicles 20:19; Revelation 7:9-10
Why we clap our hands and shout - Psalm 47:1
Why we use musical instruments - Psalm 150:3-5; Revelation 14:2
Why we dance - Psalms 149:3; 150:4
Why we lift our hands - Psalms 63:4; 134:2; 1 Timothy 2:8
Why we pray and sing in the spirit - Psalm 149:1; 1 Corinthians 14:15
Our Services
Why we set aside Sunday to worship the Lord: God desires for us to serve Him everyday, but He instructs us to make one day special, when we rest from the duties of life and focus all our thoughts on Him - Exodus 20:8-11; 31:13-16; Isaiah 56:2; 58:13-14; Ezekiel 44:24; Mark 1:21; Luke 4:16, 31; Hebrews 10:24-25.
At every service, our messages are based on the foundation of the Word of God. We listen for His leading, and minister the “NOW” Word He has for the congregation.
We have times when we pray for the sick, anointing them with oil according to James 5:16,17. We have altar time to minister and pray for the needs of the people, Acts 4:24. We don’t follow a set program, but are sensitive to follow God’s leading at all times for the direction of each service.
We may pray together as “one” for specific needs - Acts 4:24 Some may be slain in the Spirit - 2 Chronicles 5:14; Ezekiel 1:28; John 18:6; Acts 9:3,4; 22:6, 7. Some may speak with tongues and interpret - 1 Corinthians 12:7,10; 14:5, 27, 39. Some may prophesy - 1 Corinthians 12:7, 10; 14:3.
Our Vision
-
Connect with area pastors and Christian organizations in order to influence the city and surrounding community for Jesus.
-
Enlarge our borders by spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the uttermost parts of the earth; to the Jew first, and then to the rest of the world, through prayer and support of foreign and local mission organizations. Matthew 24:14; 25:35,36; Romans 1:16.
